PUR hot melt adhesive, also known as polyurethane reactive hot melt adhesive, combines hot melt processing with moisture-curing polyurethane chemistry.
PUR adhesive is heated and applied in a molten state. It provides initial bonding as it cools, while the polyurethane component subsequently reacts with moisture and continues to cure.
After curing, PUR forms a crosslinked adhesive structure that provides durable bonding performance. This makes PUR hot melt adhesive suitable for applications where manufacturers require good resistance to heat, moisture and demanding service conditions.
In woodworking and furniture manufacturing, common applications include edge banding, profile wrapping, flat lamination and other bonding processes.
